I was a Registrar and Senior Registrar on the South West Thames rotation and worked at Epsom, Roehampton, St Georges, Queen Square, Frimley with fellow posts at The London Chest and Royal Brompton Hospital before completing training in anaesthetics and intensive care in 1998. Since then I spent a year at St Georges and two at West Middlesex before moving to the current NHS post at Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford in 2002.
Since completing training I remain current and practice most specialty anaesthesia including trauma and emergency surgery and has regular sessions in anaesthesia for Orthopaedic; ENT/Head and neck surgery; cosmetic and oncoplastic breast surgery and Endocrine surgery. I maintain elective paediatric competencies to 18 months.
Additional interests within medicine include medical education where I was College Tutor in anaesthetics for 7 years and have recently stepped down from the post of Director of Medical Education for Mid Essex which I held for five years. I maintain the interest as an Educational Supervisor to anaesthetic trainees and through Faculty Development
My wife, Carrie is a recovery nurse, to whom I’ve been married for 29 years and have three sons, all in their 20s.
Outside medicine I enjoy good food, walking and fly fishing. I have a strong Christian faith and preach regularly at local churches.
